Two Weeks

Hello!
I realised yesterday that I only had two weeks left before I am due to leave the country. It shouldn’t have come as a shock, but somehow I thought I had THREE weeks to go (this makes all the difference of course!)
I needed an emergency cup of hot chocolate, a lie-down and probably would have benefited from breathing into a paper bag for a while.
Then I scoffed half a block of chocolate which felt good at first, then I regretted it  (Like how many km’s am I going to have to hike to work THAT off my bottom huh?)
Stupidly I have been a ball of anxiety all day. And its not like I haven’t travelled about the world before!! I’d like to figure out what it is that is making me all skittish and sort that out because its driving me nuts!  I prefer the laid-back version of myself!!

It was a pretty nice day out there!! But I had to knuckle down to some of the essentials.
Went into Burnie to pick up my plane ticket out of Tasmania (essential for sure) and printed nearly 200 photos. (Ruby’s b’day photos and others I needed for my book project)

Then an afternoon jaunt to get a bikini wax (like everyone needed to know). But I am going to summer – with beaches and things! (Note to self- find my swimmers that got no use in our summer this year)
So ow ow ow and that’s all done and another tick off the list (which I re-wrote)

Too nice of a day to miss out on doing some laundry.

My poor shoes! They have been worn almost to death! I bought some shoe glue to try to get the sole sticking back where they are meant to be. New shoes are definitely not in the budget right now, so these are going to have to do. I love them anyway – so comfortable. But I would rather not arrive in USA looking completely scruffy!

So for a start they got a soap up and a scrub and a good feeding with some shoe polish. The tin said ‘dark tan’, but to my eye, that looks purple!
Coooool 🙂
Will glue tomorrow and hope for the best!

Ok – I am going to go and stare at Pip and get some relaxation pointers!

Hope everyones week has started well!

Cheers!

A happy traveller through life! Right now living in NW Tasmania with a gorgeous Nurse-Husband, a fool of a Siamese Cat and several chickens. We love our fairly simple lifestyle of growing a lot of what we eat and enjoying the stunning surrounds of our little patch.

  1. Are you sure you didn’t switch the “dark tan” lid with the “oxblood” lid? Ha ha! I’m just joking, your boots don’t look bad at all.

At least you realized your departure date now and not the night before! Have a great time preparing for your adventures in Texas 🙂

    1. Lol – yeah – it wasn’t the colour I expected at all!! Oh well. They certainly look a LOT cleaner! (Poor things)
Thank-you! I am about to go and consult my new list and dive right in! The weather is gorgeous and I am all keen!!

  2. Lisa,
If I was two weeks away from a trip to Tasmania, I’d be in a tizzy too! And yes, I’ve traveled and lived various places in this incredible world too! So lighten up, and in American slang, Get R Done!

    1. lol!!! Thanks!! This is totally the day to “Get R Done” really!!!! 😀
Jeff is sitting rather comfortably on the couch and he doesn’t know yet I am about to rope him in to help me with my list! haha!

  3. Lisa,
You’ll love Texas! We’re laid back and friendly and you’ll fit right in. Take a deep breath and relax….you’ll have a great time.

    1. Thanks Deb! I am sure I am going to love it and love being there with my friends…If I can just get packed and the last things organised I reckon it will be easier to relax! 🙂

    1. The ones I know do seem to have very comfortable lives!! Pip is on my lap right now making it hard to type!! 🙂

  4. Laughed about those boots of yours. Last week I got out my gardening tennis shoes and the sole was flapping in the breeze. Hubby duck taped the sole on and out the door I went to pull weeds and plant seeds. My prissy sister thought I was crazy but I thought it was fun. Hubby said he would glue them for me and he will eventually. Enjoy your trip to Texas. It will probably be hot!

    1. Fabulous!! Yay its not just me! I also considered duck tape! I haven’t taken a look at my boots this morning to see how they are fairing! I walked in my GP’s yesterday (some blisters – oh well)
What did you get planted? I bet it was great getting out there sorting out your garden!
Thank-you re Texas. About to go and find a bunch of clothes that might be suitable to take! Excited!
