Shed!

Wow – todays weather was… well, it was very ‘Tasmanian Spring’!
It was superb earlier on… blue skies and warm. We were just heading out the door for a river hike… and the heavens opened!
So – on with the wet weather gear… only to sweat a lot and had to remove them.
Then put them on.
Then take them off…
We even got hailed on a bit!
Anyway, did a double lap which helped work off the apple crumble and ice cream.

Because today was a hopeless outside garden working day, we decided to put together the shelves we bought a while back to sort out the appalling mess in the shed.
You are just going to have to imagine the ‘before’ shot.
It was pretty bad.
I didn’t sort out any of the box contents – the point was to get them all tidy and accessible. Then, when the mood strikes me, I can pick a box and make some choices about keeping or getting rid of. Its too hard to do it all in one go.
And negatives!! What does one do with thousands of negatives?
I think I am highly unlikely to go trawling through them to get a photo printed but throwing away negatives in my mind, is right up there with book burning. I just can’t put my brain in that space!
Anyway – thats all for Future Lisa to worry about.

Hope your weekend has started well!
Cheers

  1. I recently saw a picture posted online and the man said it was from a 30 year old slide. The colors were beautiful in a nostalgic, non hi def way to the point of making the picture stick in your mind. He mentioned he copied it from placing the slide on a light box and snapping the picture with his iPad. My Aunt and Uncle lived in Africa for 40 years and we have tons of slides from them. I might have to try his technique. Setting up a light box and putting the negatives on it might be a quick way to see what you have.

    1. There are some great scanners out there and techniques to get them all digital. I have slides as well as negatives.
I think its the sheer numbers that daunt me. It would be a mammoth undertaking. I also have some of my Nanna’s old slides and negatives. Those possibly would be worth my time one day to sort out. (If I get that quiet boring winter…)
Probably in the meantime I will put it all in the ‘too hard’ basket and continue storing them haha
The slides from your Aunt and Uncle would be fascinating to go through! (You can buy/hire slide scanners which might be another option)
