Little Mysteries

Hello!
How was/is the weekend??
I seem to have made ten dollars somehow.  I haven’t had the stall out the front in forever and the money jar was in a crate in the car port with some other odds and sods.
During our work today I discovered it had $10 in it and I have no idea when, why, how or who.
I love random things around this place!!!

Jeff got to and did the mowing today while I ran about moving stuff – hoses, extension cords, netting etc.  Everything is looking rather spiffy again.

A few weeks back I made a lame start on moving this pile of wood, then rain and life got in the way.

I really didn’t get very far!!
This was the wood that Cousin Jeff had dropped off. We plan to burn it alongside our own wood from the fallen tree, as ours burns pretty hot, so it needs to be mixed up a bit.

Anyway, my awesome husband got to, while I was away and stacked the whole thing! (Mind you between that and the fence building his poor back is not playing nice right now)

Little by little. We are getting the yard looking less scrappy.

I am slowly getting all the really messy bits contained down under the Macrocarpa trees. And the girls are happy to have more room although they disgraced themselves today by finding a hole in the fence and getting into the veggie patch and creating a bit of havoc!! Not. Happy. All this space they have and they have to  make a bee line for the garden!!! Pests!!!
(Adding to list… one more fence to attend to!!)

On the domestic front, I am nearly there. I just need to uncover the dining room table and a few other things and we are presentable!
I might even bake some choc chip bikkies! (It could happen…)

Better get a wriggle on.
Bedtime for me!
Cheers!

A happy traveller through life! Right now living in NW Tasmania with a gorgeous Nurse-Husband, a fool of a Siamese Cat and several chickens. We love our fairly simple lifestyle of growing a lot of what we eat and enjoying the stunning surrounds of our little patch.

  1. Hi Lisa – Love how the gardens are looking. Such hard work put in. Love hearing about the gardens and the chickens – makes me laugh when they are so naughty. We are in the midst of a really nasty snow, sleet and ice storm here in North Carolina. The temperature has plummeted and won’t get above freezing today. We are just praying the freezing rain in the forecast misses us because that is when we lost power and that means heat. We don’t have a wood stove except in hubby’s shop. I’m not a big snow fan though it is pretty when falling. Thanks for continuing to blog when so many have given up on it. Love hearing about your life.

    1. Hi Beverly!! Thanks for the message – glad you are still enjoying the stories and photos. And yes, despite all, the chickens make me laugh too. Wow.. have you thawed out yet? Your weather sounds miserable!! I hope the power stayed connected. Thats the one thing about the power outages here… we still have the beautiful fire to enjoy!! I like seeing photos of the snow, and I even enjoy visiting it (or hiking in it) but I am sure it would get old really fast living in it!!! I’ll try to continue sunny posts… although we are diving down into some rain and misery the next few days. I even have the fire on tonight. Mostly for our guest who was feeling a bit chilly, but I have to admit I am loving it too!! 🙂

  2. Hi Lisa!
Your yard is looking great! Isn’t it wonderful when you find a small stash of cash? Like when you put on a coat you haven’t worn in awhile and find a 5 dollar bill in the pocket. So delightful.
Your pics are wonderful, keep them coming.

    1. Hello Teresa!! Thanks so much! Loving the yard transformation…although I am still nervous about the remaining trees!!
lol – yes! Unexpected money is always a bit of a buzz!! I do tend to stash it here and there. Jeff is worried I will die before him and he won’t know where half our cash is!! haha
How’s the weather treating you up in Oregon? I got sunburned yesterday and tonight I have the fire on!! Tasmania!!!!! 😀

      1. Oh well, Oregon. Don’t like the weather? Wait 5 minutes and it will change! Today we are blustery with wind and rain spurts. Where I live I’m on the west end of the Columbia Gorge and at times the wind can be pretty ferocious. No snow in the forecast but that’s okay the mountains are only an hour away if I want snow and the beach is an hour and a half away if I need the ocean. It’s a good place to live, have everything I need.

        1. Your weather sounds suspiciously like ours! haha. We are having a bit of a windy few days… no rain today though (or just a few spits)
Sounds like you are in the perfect location! All the good stuff within reach!! Wonderful!
