Friday!

Hello weekend!
Nothing exciting from me today – I think my wheels fell off a bit today. Energy bottomed out suddenly so I was quite slow.
The most exciting thing to happen today was going back to the doc and getting another B12 injection (this time it was ‘ow’) and got another blood test done.
She was running really late today but that usually doesn’t bother me. Their waiting room is very comfortable and I always take some knitting or crochet along. Since I rarely have schedules its not a huge issue. (Plus I was slotted into an already full schedule today so I figured she would be running late)
I pretty much got the other cosy cuff done for my friend so that was a plus!

OK… Cat people. I have a theory.
I reckon that humans give out some kind of attractive ‘I am getting up in a second’ pheromone that cats love.
Pip is uncannily good at jumping up on one of our laps mere seconds before the credits of any program we are watching roll. And – if we are watching a few episodes of something, he will put in his appearance on the last one.
Of course… immediately curl up and look dead asleep and comfortable so you can’t move.
He did this again tonight with precision timing and has done it so often its almost spooky!
Does anyone else have a cat that does the same thing?

Ok… reckon I should start edging towards bed (and yes, Pip has jumped up on my lap and has curled up asleep under my windcheater!! Sigh. Maybe a couple of mindless facebook games before bed then!)

Cheers

This cuff is now done, both waiting to be stitched. The rug is slowly getting bigger. I still have a number of balls of wool to work through, but each round is eating a lot of yarn!!

  1. I really like your new crochet blanket, purple is my favorite color. Since you are very good at crochet and knitting, I was wondering is this a beginner or advanced pattern? I have crocheted some but simple blankets, rows back and forth. My daughter-in-law is great at crochet and is almost done with a mandala pattern blanket. It is very beautiful wish you could see it.
I love your stories and pictures of Pip. I wrote once before with this question but couldn’t get it to post. How did you train Pip on a leash to go outside? Just got two new young cats and would like to leash train them. Has Pip ever slipped out of the collar? As always enjoy all of your posts.

    1. Hi Ramona! Glad you are liking my current blanket in progress! I don’t think the blanket pattern was too advanced – it had a couple of new stitches in it that I hadn’t done, but mostly its chain stitch, double crochet and a few singles. I’ll look for the link where I learned it and you can take a peek – the fellow was really quite clear I thought.
The mandala sounds beautiful – I am sure it would take a lot of time, patience and skill!
Re Pip – we started with him as a kitten so he really didn’t know much different. My other big beautiful Siamese I got as a rescue and he in no way shape or form was going to walk on a lead!!! 😀 Pip still doesn’t exactly lead like a dog, but he is happy to be on the lead and more or less goes where I want. He has slipped the harness – (terrifying to me!) but that was a harness problem not a him wriggling out of it problem. I haven’t let him fight the harness because cats forelegs when extended up could quite easily shrug the harness over their heads. I don’t want to give him ideas! So mostly it has been quite successful – and lots of peace of mind for us!
      Thank-you so much for reading!!
