First Tulip

Hello Friday! Ended the week with the first tulip appearing! How nice!

Not a lot fabulously exciting happening at Norwich House today -except had a friend in this morning to talk photography (and eat cake of course with a cuppa) which was really lovely! Apart from that it was all shopping, bank, post office, watering seeds & dishes!!

Hope everyone has a super weekend planned!

Cheers!

Oh, and this black lily thingy…

And in a few days…?

  1. The black tulip thingy is some kind of arum lily. I searched Google for “black arum lily” and came up with some pictures that may be like yours.
Love your pictures and commentary. It’s turn into to autumn in California. Hopefully, that means cooler days and nights.

    Cheers,

    1. Hi Carla! Thank-you! Black Arum Lily sounds better than my title!! šŸ˜€ I had a look and it is def. it!
Beautiful autumn! Will you get gorgeous colours in your area?

  2. Not much fall color where I live on the Coast. We sometimes drive up to the mountains in Oct. to see the color change that California offers. Mainly green to yellow leaf color change. Much fewer read leaves.

    1. We don’t get as much colour overall either – most of our native trees are evergreen.
Still… hopefully we will be lucky in Japan in a couple of months to see some colour there! I love the autumn colours!

  3. Two months? November may be a bit late for fall color in Japan. Over here in California, October is the best month. And, fall color is only at its best here for only a few days. There are actually many blogs, FB pages, email lists and newspaper articles one can get/read that monitor the best days to see the fall colors in our Sierra Nevada mountains. Maybe there are similar information sites in Japan. Good luck. Hope you see the fall colors. They are probably spectacular in Japan.

    1. Last time we were there in November and we hit it at exactly the right time.. followed the colours about actually! When I lived there the best times ranged between October and November… hoping to get lucky again this time.
Thats a good idea following someone blog or page on the colours & timing. We don’t have much choice to change things, so it will be luck – Parents will be with us the first two weeks and we will stay on until the end of the month… surely will see a few pretty leaves there somewhere!! They really are gorgeous in Japan in autumn. (Lots of Japanese maples)
I can only imagine the Sierra Nevada Mountains in autumn… nope. hang on… googled it! Wow! stunning! šŸ™‚

  4. Great. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your fall leaf color pictures of Japan. They will be spectacular.

    Enjoy,

    Carla
